Prof.Dr. Talat CANBOLAT was born in Tufanbeyli/Adana in 1966. He completed his primary education in Doğanbeyli, secondary education in Saimbeyli. He started his high school education in Gölcük and completed at Mersin Dumlupınar High School.

 He started his university education at İstanbul University, Faculty of Law in 1985, and received undergraduate degree in 1989. In the same year, he began his career as a research assistant in the Department of Labour and Social Security Law at the Faculty of Law at Marmara University. He earned both M.D. and Ph.D. degrees at Marmara University, Faculty of Law, where he was appointed as assistant professor in 2000. He earned the title of associate professor in 2008, advancing to full professor in 2013.

 He completed his military service as a third lieutenant in Turkish Military Academy between 1999 and 2000, after the 267th term training period at the Artillery and Missile School Command in Polatlı/Ankara.

 He served on the Faculty Committee and Administrative Committee at the Faculty of Law at Marmara University. He served as assistant professor representative, associate professor representative and professor representative at the Faculty Committee. He served as Associate Dean in 2003. He was registered as a lawyer with Istanbul Bar Association in 2003. He served as Head of the Department of Labour and Social Security Law from 2013 to 2019.

 He worked as a traffic expert at the Traffic Specialization Department of the Council of Forensic Medicine (ATK), and as a member of the Extended Experts Committee at the Department of Traffic Specialization from the year 2003 to 2020. He has been working as legal advisor at TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) since 2014. He served as a member and Chairman of the Regional Commission for the Protection of Natural Assets in Istanbul between 2011 and 2019.

 Prof.Dr.Talat CANBOLAT took part in scientific commissions on the preparation of Trade Unions and Collective Bargaining Agreements Law No. 6356, Expert Witness Law No. 6754, Labour Courts Law No. 7036.

 Since 2020, he has been a member of Judicial Decisions Justification Science Committee conducted by Justice Academy of Turkey.

 As an advisor, he has directed 12 Master’s theses and 7 Ph.D. dissertations. He is currently acting as an advisor for 17 Master’s and Ph.D. theses. He has published 4 books (as co-author for one one of them), and performed five international, 25 national presentations which were published in the proceedings, approximately 200 presentation in scientific meetings. He has also published 62 scientific articles.

 Since 16 May 2019, he has been serving as the Vice Rector of the Turkish National Defense University.

 On 13 January 2021, he was also appointed by proxy to the position of Secretary General of Turkish National Defense University in addition to his primary duty.
