    Prof. Talat CANBOLAT, Ph.D

    Talat CANBOLAT was born in 1966 in Tufanbeyli/Adana. He completed his primary education in Doğanbeyli and his secondary education in Saimbeyli. He started his high school education in Gölcük and completed at Mersin Dumlupınar High School.

    He started his university education in İstanbul University, Faculty of Law in 1985 and he graduated in 1989. In the same year, he started his academic career as a research assistant in Marmara University, Faculty of Law, Department of Labour and Social Security Law. He completed his master of laws in 1992 and his Ph.D. in 1998. He was appointed assistant professor at Marmara University, Faculty of Law in 2000. He earned the title of associate professor in 2008 and of professor in 2013.

    He completed his military service as a third lieutenant in Turkish Military Academy between 1999 and 2000, after a training period at Artillery and Missile School in Polatlı/Ankara.

    He has served on the Faculty Committee and Administrative Committee at Marmara University, Faculty of Law. He acted as assistant professor representative, associate professor representative and professor representative in the Faculty Committee. He served as deputy dean in 2003. He registered as a lawyer to Istanbul Attorney Search also in 2003. Canbolat has been the head of the Department of Labour and Social Security Law since 2013.

    He has worked as a traffic expert in the Traffic Specialist Department of Forensic Medicine Institution since 2003. He is also a member of the extended experts of the Department of Traffic Specialization. He has worked as legal advisor at TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) since 2014. He acted a member and Chairman of the Regional Commission for the Protection of Natural Assets in Istanbul between 2011 and 2019.

    Talat CANBOLAT took part in scientific commissions on the preparation of Trade Unions and Collective Bargaining Agreements Law No. 6356, Expert Witness Law No. 6754, Labour Courts Law No. 7036.

    As an advisor, he directed 12 Master’s theses and six Ph.D. dissertations. He is currently acting as an advisor for 18 Master’s and Ph.D. theses. Talat CANBOLAT has published four books, one of which has co-authors; he has five international, 25 national presentations which were published in the proceedings, approximately 200 presentation in scientific meetings. He also published 62 scientific articles.

    He was appointed as Vice Rector at the Turkish National Defence University on 16 May 2019.

    Prof. Talat CANBOLAT, Ph.D. is married and has three children.
