    Major General
    Ertan İNALTEKİN
     

    Major General Ertan İNALTEKİN was born in Afyonkarahisar in 1969 and completed his primary and secondary education in Istanbul. After studying at Maltepe Military High School between 1983-1987 and at the Military Academy between 1987-1991, he graduated as an Infantry Second Lieutenant in 1991. 

     

    Between 1992 and 2001, respectively; He served as the Platoon and Company Commander of the 229th Motorized Infantry Regiment Combat Group, the 12th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, the 2nd Special Protection Battalion, and in Azerbaijan. Following his education at the Army War College between 2001 and 2003, he served as Headquarters Officer at the 3rd Mechanized Infantry Division between 2003 and 2005, and as a lecturer at the Army War College between 2005 and 2008. 

     

    He completed his master's degree at Beykent University Educational Management and Supervision Program in 2006 and his military specialization at the Turkish Joint Command and Staff College in 2008. 

     

    He served as Battalion Commander at the Mountain and Commando Brigade between 2008-2010, Chief of Staff at the 8th Mechanized Infantry Brigade between 2010-2013, 1st Infantry Regiment Commander at the Cyprus Turkish Peace Forces Command Security Command between 2013-2015, Head of Education at the Army War College between 2015-2017, Commander of the Army War College between 2017-2019, and Secretary General of National Defence University (NDU) between 2019-2020. 

     

     With the decisions of the Supreme Military Council in 2020, he was promoted to Brigadier General and appointed as the Director of the Army War College. After serving as the Commander of the 172nd Armor Brigade between 2021 and 2023, he was promoted to Major General by the Supreme Military Council Decisions in 2023 and was appointed as the Vice Rector of the NDU. 

     

    Major General Ertan İNALTEKİN is married and the father of two children. He speaks English.
