    Asst. Prof. Dr. Mürsel DOĞRUL
     

      Dr. Mürsel Doğrul is an Assistant Professor at the Joint War College, National Defense University, specializing in International Relations, Security Studies and Asia-Pacific Studies. He obtained his degree in International Relations from Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University in 2014 and conducted research in Romania, Spain, and Ukraine during his undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Dr. Doğrul completed one-month internships at the Ministry of EU Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye in 2013. He earned an M.Sc. degree in International Relations from Necmettin Erbakan University with a thesis titled 'Counterterrorism Policy of Japan' and completed his Ph.D. at the National Defense University in 2021 with a thesis titled 'The Middle East in Japanese Foreign Policy: Political Economy of Energy.' He was a Japan Foundation Fellow and a visiting scholar at Meiji University in 2023. His research interests include Japanese foreign policy, energy policy and security. Dr. Doğrul has also made contributions to the field with his academic and scholarly works focusing on the changing dynamics of international security and international relations literature. Dr. Doğrul is an Advisor to the President of the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) and speaks advanced English and intermediate Japanese (ORCID: 0000-0002-0637-843X and Web of Science ResearcherID: M-5164-2018).
