    Brigadier General
    Cem Kamil SAĞCAN

     

    Brigadier General Cem Kamil SAĞCAN was born in Nevşehir in 1974. He graduated from Kuleli Military High School in 1992, from the Military Academy in 1996, and from the Artillery and Missile School in 1997.


    Between 1997-2004 he served as Team and Battery Commander, respectively at; 39th Infantry Division Command (TRNC), 25th Mechanized Infantry Brigade Command (Damal/Ardahan) and 102nd Artillery Regiment Command (Keşan/Edirne). He served as Protocol Officer and Guard Company Commander at Land Aviation Command between 2004-2010. He then served as Maintenance Command Operations Plan Officer between 2010-2013 and later as Land Forces Defence Planning Department Defence Industry Cooperation Officer between 2013-2016. Moving on to General Staff General Plan Principles Presidency, he served as NATO Strategy Officer and Force Development Branch Land Plan Officer between 2016-2019. He also served as the G3 Plan Officer of the Afghanistan ISAF Multinational Brigade Command in 2005-2006.


    He received his Headquarters Officer training between 2017-2018, his Command and Staff Training between 2018-2019 and finally his Joint Warfare Institute training between 2020-2021. Following the Command Staff Training, he served as the Operations Training Department Head at the 7th Corps Command (Diyarbakır) in 2019-2022, and during this duty, he participated in the Operation Peace Spring, which started on 09 October 2019. In 2022, he served as the 3rd Army Chief of Operations.


    He was promoted to Brigadier General with the decision of the Supreme Military Council in 2022, and was appointed as the Vice Rector of the National Defence University with the Presidential decision dated August 18, 2022 and numbered 2022/422. Brigadier General Cem Kamil SAĞCAN is married and has one child. He speaks English.
