Responsibilities of the Department To ensure the design, execution and development of associate, undergraduate and graduate education programs and processes in a way to ensure basic commonality between the educational institutions affiliated with the National Defence University. To ensure that the decisions taken by the Senate regarding the opening of new diploma programs or the termination of student admission in one or more of the existing programs are submitted to the information of the Council of Higher Education and to the approval of the Ministry. To ensure that the academic units of the university, the curriculum, content and subject scopes are presented to the Senate for discussion and decision at the beginning of each academic year. To ensure the establishment and operation of distance education and training infrastructure and technologies that will make education and training programs accessible to civilian/military students and trainees outside the university campuses, if needed. To ensure the design, implementation and development of training programs which will be implemented in case of interruption of formal education or cancellation of some trainings due to emergencies (war, state of emergency, natural disaster, epidemic, etc.). To ensure that the standards of teaching materials to be prepared in educational institutions affiliated with the National Defence University are determined, their needs identified in line with the scope of the subject, and the emerging needs are reported to the relevant units. To provide trainings on instructional design and effective material use to the instructors working in educational institutions affiliated with the National Defence University. To ensure that new technologies and developments in education and training are followed and implemented in educational institutions affiliated with the National Defence University.
