    The Responsibilities of the Chair are

     

    • to make a division of labour among the members of the commission and other officials and to ensure compliance of the works with the law and legislation,
       
    • to ensure that necessary arrangements and measures are taken for the safety, protection, and readiness for inspection of tender documents and samples,
       
    • to examine “Certificate of Approval” and its annexes from tendering official, to ensure that those documents which comply with the legislation are processed and those documents which do not comply are corrected,
       
    • to ensure that announcements for tender activities regarding goods and services to be made in accordance with laws and legislation,
       
    • to provide the members of the tender commission a copy of tender specification and its annexes within three days following the announcement and invitation for the tender in order for them to carry out necessary examination,
       
    • to ensure that Tender Commission meets with all of its members,
       
    • to keep the confidentiality of the approximate costs until the tender is concluded,
       
    • to present the decisions taken by the Tender Commission to the tendering official,
       
    • to keep the records during the tender process in accordance with the current legislation,
       
    • to ensure that the contracts are signed and the tendering documents are distributed to their relevant units on time, and
       
    • to keep deposit receipts and to provide release of guarantees to tendering officials who fulfil the provisions of their contracts.
